Thus, they have an organization for high school stu dents that is definitely Christian in purpose. The Hi-Y- and Tri-Hi-Y are close ly akin to the parent organization of the YMCA whifh was founded by George William^ in London 101 years ago. Mr. Williams got togeth er twelve young man who decided that they would live according to Christian standards and they form ed the first Young Men’s Christian association. The Hi-Y and Tri-Hi-Y move ments are ^'ell known throughout the United States and Canada. They also operate in many other countries around the world. In the Carolinas there are approximately 200 high schools that have on-going, clubs, and the Interstate commit tee is seeking to extend this work. In Clinton the Hi-Y and Tri-Hi-Y clubs conducted the devotional ser vices in the schools during the “Week of Prayer.” These clubs are interested in the world service pro-, gram of the YMCA. They special ize in baskets for the poor. They collect toys for children at Christ mas who might otherwise be over- lobked, and they perform many other tasks of service, but the most important thing about them is their agreement to stand together for a higher type of morality in the schools and in the community. R. E. Ferguson, Jr., who has been interested in the YMCA program* for many years, is the adult super visor for Clinton, having been ap pointed to this task by George M.
