Hugh B. Workman, chairman, Laurens county P. M. A. county committee has written a Utter under date of December 18, 1951, and en closed a Farm Conservation PUn blank for the 1952 Agricultural Conservation Program, requesting each farmer to list his request for 1952 soil building practices, and to return same to the P. M. A. office for allocating money for the farm in question. This is very import ant on the part of the farmer as the money will be allocated to the farmer on the basis of first come, first served. Of course, when all the money is taken up, there is no assistance available to the late comer. The soil building practice allowance for the farm is arrived at by multiplying one dollar times the a^res of crop land on the farm. This soil building practice money for the farm may be used - in car-) rying out various practices as-listed in Mr. Workman’s letter* Each year, there are farmers who fail to make lication in time for their request I of soil building practices expected ] to be carried ojot-during the year,! and of course recetve^np benefits, j P.
