Visitors From New York
Two representatives from Clin- j
ton Cottons, Inc., the New York
selling office which represents Ly
dia and Clinton Cotton Mills, visit
ed the mills and communities Mon
day and Tuesday of this week.
They were Mrs. Betty Meyers and
Miss Loraine Desmond. Since it
was their first visit to the South,
and also their first trip through a'
cotton mill, they were very much
impressed, they said, and enthusi
astic over their experience.
Kindergarten Mothers Meet
The Kindergarten Mothers club (
met Thursday night in the lounge
of the community center with Mrs.
David Word, president, presiding.
She opened the meeting with a de
votional on the topic of “Room to
Grow.” x
Mrs. Mary Parrish, secretan^.
r called the roll and read the min
utes. Plans were made for the pre
sentation of the Tom Thumb
Thumb wedding given Saturday
night in the auditorium of Provi-
• dence school. The club also spon
sors the School of Dance.
The club made plans for the run-
r ning of a Queen in the Tom Thumb
Bowl in Clinton this month.
The club meets the first Thurs
day in each month and all moth

Bluebirds Meat
At a joint meeting held monthly,
all groups of Bluebirds under the
leadership of Mzv. A. C. Young,
Jr., Miss Mary Johnson, Mrs. Ralph
Harbin and Mrs. Wallace, gathered
at the community center Tuesday
afternoon for a social hour. Miss
Johnson had charge of the music
program, using several navelty
and action songs. Mrs. Harbin read
a very interesting Puppy and I
poem by A. A. Milne. Mrs. Young
led in the games and the group en
joyed folk dancing.
Special guests were Mrs. Thomas
Jacobs, Mrs. Davis Holland, Mrs.
Lykes Henderson and Mrs. Roy
Casque, who are Bluebird leaders,
from Clinton. Three little Blue

Clinton Mills Loads In Quis
With the score of the series of j
“The Quiz of Two Mills" now run- j
ning 6 to 4 in favor of the Clinton
Mills, the Lydia tea mwon the con
test this week wth teams of both
mills representing the Men's clubs,
tegory sports. Mrsc. Harry Foster
asked, what game si played that
Clyde Trammell selected as his ca-
the players don’t touch the ground?
P0I9. What game is played with
a ball only 7-8 inflated? Water
polo. And what player of football
was known as the ‘Galloping
Ghost?,... Red Grange.
A. C. Young, Jr., making the on
ly perfect score of the evening,
drew a set of questions of Clinton-
Lydia Mills personalities. He knew
that P. S. Bailey*-is president of
Clinton and Lydia Mills, that Mrs.
Eva Lalid is the community worker
of the Clinton mills and David
Word is paymaster of Lydia Mills.
These questions were sent in by
Mrs. Peggy Davenport.
J. B. Neal, past president of the
Lydia Men’s club, was given the
category of comic books sent in by
Mrs. Curtis Taylor. He was quite
a bit puzzled to find the name of
Roy Rogers’ horse was Trigger,
GGene Autry’s horse, chamlpion,
and Hopalong Cassidy’s was Top
per.
The Clinton team was represent
ed by Arthur Howard, James Stone
and Dewey Oxner.
Prizes are given weekly through
the courtesy of Clinton and Lydia
Cotton Mills.
