A report of the work that the Woman's club has accomplished in the last three months was given by Mrs. Horace Smith, treasurer. She reported sales from chicken stews and the food served at the 4th of July celebration as a financial gain. The club sponsors the Camp Fire girls and Bluebirds. Several out ings for families were given dur ing the summer months. The Ly dia Basket, a pet project of the club, was very interesting and made quite a sum for the club. The. honor of being a Lydia Sister is growing in prominence and ex pectation. Calvin Cooper made the report of the Men’s club. They have just completed their reorganization for the year and are making plans for the continued sponsorship of the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. Their next meeting will be a community supper. Mr. Cooper, the new scout master for the Cub Scouts, told of his plans to organize four dens. Prospective Den Mothers and Den Dads will hold a meeting in the near future to begin a new year’s work. Mrs. J. B. Templeton told of the work being done in the Hobby club. A Hobby show which was very successful has just been given and attractive przies awarded. The Hobby club is planning the exhibit in the county fair this week in Lau rens. Miss Johnson represented the Bluebirds and Mrs. Wallace the Camp Fire irgls. Two new leaders in Camp Fire work, Mrs. J. B. Tem pleton and Mrs. Lois Webb, were present for their groups. George H. Come Ison represented the mill management and Mrs. Wallace as advisor for the council, each making remarks concerning progress being made in community work as a service of the recreation activities that make a well-rounded program in the community.
