Friends of Mrs. Lester Hair will regret to learn she is a patient at Joanna hospital having undergone surgery on Monday. Miss Gladys Childers underwent an appendectomy on June 1 at the local hospital. Patients being treated the past week at the local hospital were Mrs. Calvin Owens, Mrs. Ida Bell Prater and Mrs. Nina Bishop. Bill Campbell is recuperating at his home on the highway from an appendectomy at the local hospital. A. L. Mayes of the apartments, had an appendectomy at oanna hos pital last week. Mrs. Hair Entertains Immediately following the op eretta at the school closing Mrs. W. W. Hair and Ruth entertained the ladies of the faculty honoring Miss Betty Jo Sloan. Summer flowers were used in lew arrangements throughout the living and dining rooms. Refreshments were served to the group following an hour of fun. Sloan of Columbia, and Leland Smith of Greenville. On Folly Beach Trip Eighteen members of the Teen- Age club and' junior softball teams left Monday morning by bus for a four-day trip to Folly Beach. Chap erones for the occasion were Mrs. 1 J. C. Lambert, Miss Hilda Oxner and Johnny Moore. Cole, Jr., and Gerald Jenkins. Young People's Rally ' A rally of the young people of the Pentecostal Holiness church will be held Saturday night at 7:30. The Rev. Montgomery Dun can of Ninety-Six, will have charge of the program and will show a religious film. The public is cor dially invited. To Hold Quarterly Conference , The quarterly union conference of the Fire Baptized church will! be held at Martin Grove church near Iva on the Elberton, Ga., high way, Friday night at 7:30. The delegates from the Joanna church will be Mrs. Margaret Holt and for the Sunday school Mrs. Janie Norris. A reorganization meeting was held at the home church last Sun day. The new officers for the coming year are Rev. James Smith, superintendent of the Sunday school; Mrs. Sallie Johnson, treas urer of the Sunday school; Rev. Fred Rowe, teacher of Bible; Mrs. Fred Rowe, teacher of the inter mediates and juniors and church treasurer and clerk, Rev. Fred Rowe. The wedding plans will be announced later. Mission Study Friday Night The last sesion of the mission study, “We Seek Him Together,” will be held Friday night in the church library. This discussion of study is on cooperative worship. For the social hour following each member is asked to bring a covered dish.
