Payne. The exchange of books was con ducted and new books to purchase for the coming year were discussed. During the afternoon sandwiches, coffee and mints were served. Rose colored carnations added attractive ness to the hostess home for the occasion. Wednesday Club Has Meeting The Wednesday bridge club met last week at the home of Mrs. Rob ert F. Black. D. Lindsey of Greenwood, was held December 20 in a chapel specially set up for the occasion in the Guayabal Community, Central Francisco, Cuba. A civil ceremony was held at the bride's home on the preceding evening. Mrs. Lindsey is a graduate of the Catholic Institute in Comaguey and attended Lander col lege last year. Following a wedding trip to Havana, Cuba, the couple is living here where Mr. Lindsey is a student at Presbyterian college. Jonuory Meeting A. R. P. Bible Class The January meeting of the Ladies Bible class of the Asso ciate Reformed Presbyterian church was held at the home of Mrs. E. B. Sloan with Mrs. Marion Nabors as co-hoste^sr 1 - Mrs. James P. Sloan who was in ( charge of the program for the even ing, gave a devotional and discussed a chapter from the study booklet. Mrs. A. B. Blakely, president, pre sided over a business session during which the report of the secretary, Mrs. W. B. Tribble, was given. During a social hour hot punch, heart shaped sandwiches, cookies and other refreshments were served car rying out a Valentine motif. Narcis sus with other seasonal arrangements were used at vantage points in the hostess home. Two guests enjoyed the occasion with the members, Mrs. J. H. Mapp of Buena Vista, Va. and Mrs. N. H.
