The meeting will be held at 4 o’clock at | the home of Mrs. W. C. Baldwin. Baptist Circle Meets With Mrs. McCombs The business women’s circle of the First Baptist church met on Monday evening at the home of Mrs. J. B. McCombs. Miss Agnes Davis, program chair man, presided. Miss Irene Workman assisted by other meanfoers who read Bible selections rendered the situdy from Isaiah. Later a social hour was enjoyed and the hostess served a salad course and coffee. Miss Rose Lee, presiding, an interesting and instruc tive program on “Stewardship” was given by Mrs. Robert Grube, assist ed by Miss Katrine Martin. The de votional program was given by Mrs. Bill Abrams. During the social hour the hostess es served a salad course, cookies and Russian tea. U. D. C. Chapter In January Meeting Thursday evening, Mrs. Wilson Harris was hostess to the Stephen D. Lee Chapter, U.D.C. at her home on Centennial street. Assistant hostess es were Mrs. Asa Davis and Mrs. Henry Trammell. Mrs. Ramp Stone, program chair man of the evening, presented Miss Luva McDonald of the orphanage faculty who introduced the Thom- well boys quartet and several girls who sang several songs and gave rec itations. Later the guest* were invited into the dining room where refresh ments were served in buffet style. Adorning the table was a large sil ver and green fan caught with New Year bells, and tall burning white tapers in candelabra. Mrs. C. B. Betts poured coffee and Mrs. Nene Workman cut cake at the table. Parties Given By Joint Hostesses A lovely luncheon was given Fri day at noon by Mrs. J. F. Jacobs and Mrs. Horace Payne at the home of the former. Gladioli and snapdragons in shades of pink and rose fashioned a bouquet for the dining table from which the luncheon was served buffet.
