Hotel Stockholders
At Lourens Paid
Liquidating Dividends
(Says The Laurens Advertiser).
Approximately $85,000 is being
paid out in liquidating dividends to
stockholders of the Laurens Com
munity Hotel, Incorporated, it was
stated yesterday by L. C. Barksdale.
Actually, the money represents a
return of a part of the investment
made in the hotel enterprise four
years ago after plans were abandon
ed in early December to abandon the
enterprise. The payment, Mr. Barks
dale said, is about 70 per cent on the
dollar and represents most osf the
cash on hand after expenses have
been paid and before total liquida
tion of the remaining assets. In the
assets is included a lot for which the
corporation paid $15,000. W
