Birthday Party Mrs. Clyde Trammell honored her son, Kenneth, who was celebrating his 9th birthday, with a party Fri day afternoon. Several games were played, after which refreshments of ice cream, cup cakes, candy and wafers were 1 served. Favors were given to each of the nineteen guests present. Mrs. Alice Motte has returned home from Hays hospital where she has been a patient. C ommunity Council Being Formed A community council is being formed by the recreation department | of the Lydia Mills community. This council will include members of the. executive board of each club, with a j representative of the local teachers organization and gnill officials. The! council will meet Wednesday at 6:39 o'clock at the community center. Campfire Girls Meet The Wahankas group of Campfire Girls met Tuesday night and put on a fashion show as a part of craft work they are doing for the year’s project. Lois Phipps, president, pre sided and gave the devotional. Lo retta Coker acted as mistress of ceremonies, and introduced each member as they modeled fashions girls like. The models were Lois Phipps, Sherry Smith, Millie Allen and Ruby Hughes. Sherry Smith demonstrated the correct way of set ting a table. Mrs. Wallace led the group in reading the Campfire pledge, and ex- plaind the Campfire laws. The sev en crafts were discussed and each member selected their project for the month. The group was histess to a group of Campfire girls aijd their leaders from the Clinton Mill com munity. Mrs. J. W. Smith and Miss Nellie Osborne, guardians of the vis iting group, told of interesting ac tivities that Campfire girls can do.
