Mr. and Mrs. George McGinnis spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Erby Orr in Walhalla. Mrs. George Sabens, Linda Ray and Duane, formerly of Vermont, are rpaking their home with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Clark, while iSgt. Sabens is in service. Mrs. Paul Glenn and son of Green ville, are visiting Mrs. J. H. Seay. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Yarbrough and sons spent the week-end sightseeing in Chattanooga, Tenn. Funeral services for Edward Hard man, U, who died suddenly Satur day afternoon at his home wore held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Calvary Baptist church by the Rev. J. W Spillers and the Rev. John Holland. Interment followed in the Whitmire cemetery.' Pallbearers were Clyde Kuyken dall. Stephen Giles. Homer Soddeth, Lawrence Kuykendall. Rudolph Hy man, Roy Holtaclaw and J. A. Cra- bj. ^ Birthday Party Glvesi Little Pat Penland was honored with a party by her grandmother, Mrs. H. E Berry, Friday afternoon in celebration of her 3rd birthday. About twenty little girls and boys gathered for the occasion and enjoy ed a number of games on the lawn. Ice cream and cup cakes were served by the hostess, assisted by Pat’s mother, Mrs. Manley Penland Each little guest was given a favor. Pat received many useful gifts. The Sick Friends of Mrs. Virgil Webb will be glad to know she is improving at her home after an operation at Hays hospital last week. Mrs. Lewis Butler is suffering with an injured arm due to a fall last week. Mrs. Jack Griffin is a patient in the Greenwood hospital where she underwent an operation Tuesday. Mrs. Joe Burns is recuperating af ter an operation at Hays hospital last week. j Wilfred Bragg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bragg, has mumps. Mrs. David Adams is improving after an illness.
