Shelton Moose an-, nounced yesterday that the contract j was signed Tuesday for the construc- tioivof a new Lutheran church. The. contract was awarded to the Cannon Construction Company in Newberry, Architect is I. B. Leslie of Newber- ry. Building of the $25,000 church is expected to begin the 15th of this month. The seats and other furnish ings have not been purchased yet., The cnurch is scheduled to be com pleted within five to six months. Mr. Moose said tnat the Cannon Construction company was the same firm that erected the Clinton Luther an church 25 years ago. The church will be constructed with granite material and will have a seating capacity of 150. There will be a complete basement with Sunday school facilities. A kitchen will space for dining purpostfs will also be in cluded. The basement will be above ground with the front being filled in to! ground level. The church will be built next to the parsonage on Far-! ley street. The Lutheran congregation which was organized in 1945 with 40 mem bers, now has a membership of over 100. It’s easy to remove fat from soup or hot broth if you will just wring out a clean cloth in cold water and pour the broth through that. Eliminate upleasant cooking odors from rooms by airing rooms out thor oughly before starting the cooking Then close the windows and sprinkle some granulated sugar on a small frying pan. Let it melt, then wave the fumes through the rooms. Prevent glass from breaking when pouring hot food into the receptable by first placing a spoon against the bottom of the vessel, then pouring in a stream right onto the spoon. RECIPE OF THE WEEK Pork Liver Loaf •(Serves 6-8) 14 pounds pork liver > 4 slices bacon 1 medium onion 4 cup chopped parsley 1 1 cup diced celery 24 cups soft bread crumbs 2 eggs, slightly beaten 2 teaspoons salt 1-8 teaspoon pepper 4 teaspoon thyme Place liver in hot water for 10 minutes; drain. Put liver, bacon, oniftn through food chopper using coarse blade. Add remaining in gredients. Pack firmly into loaf pan, 8x4x24 inches. Bake in a mod erate (350 degrees) oven for IV4 hours.
