J. H. Darr officiated, using I the double ring ceremony. Preceding lithe ceremony, a musical program was rendered by Miss Blanche Ellen Darr at the organ and Miss Barbara Workman, soloist. Miss Darr played Melody Of Love (Engelman); Tram- eri (Schubert) and Miss Workman sang “Because’’ and “Oh Promise Me.” During the ceremony “To A Wild Rose” (McDowell) was softly played. The traditional wedding marches were used. Lighting the candles were Guy McElhannon and Jimmy Piercy, young brothers of the bride and groom, respectively. Usher-groomsmen included Earl McElhannon, E. C. Edwins, both of Clinton, Raymond Whittaker, of Henrietta, N. C. and Buck Barrett of Gastonia. N. C. Miss Magdalene Collins of Clinton, was maid of honor and P. L. Piercy father of the groom, was best man. Susan, given in marciage by her father, C. M. McElhannon, was love ly in a dress-makers suit with mat ching accessories. She wore a cor sage of purple-throated orchids. Following the wedding a buffet luncheon was served at the recrea tion center. The center was attract ively decorated throughout in bridal white and green. Miss Mary Johnson entertained in the lounge where the receiving line was formed and di rected the guests to the gift room where Mrs. E. C. Edwins presided. Miss Kathryn Eichelberger invited the guests into the dining room. As-! sisting in entertaining here was Mrs. 1 Clyde Trammell and Mrs. Nancy Hughes. After a wedding trip to various points of interest in Florida and a visit to the great Smokies the young couple wiwll be at home on South' Broad street. Everyone is invited to hear Mrs. Bannister at this open meeting. Luncheon Club Presents Play The Old Maids convention pre sented by the Luncheon club drew a capacity audience Saturday evening. Miss Mary Jdhnson , and Mrs. James Pitts, preceding the play, led the audience in singing favorite songs.
