Rehearsal Party Planned Following the rehearsal for the McElhannon-Piercy wedding Friday evening at the First Baptjst church in Clinton, a party will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Ed monds on South Broad street, honor ing the bridal party. Susan and Kenneth will be married at 11 o’clock Saturday morning. Gladys McCravy and Dot Burnett Entertain A teen-age community party spon sored by Gladys McCravy and Dot Burnett was held Wednesday eve ning at the recreation center. The room was artistically decorated with Queen Anne’s lace and ivy. A large gj;oup of teen-agers enjoyed music, gAtnes and square dancing. Mrs. John Seldon and sons remained for a week's visit. f Barbara McLendon is a patient at' Hays hospital where she underwent i an operation Monday. Birthday Dinner for Mrs. Hughes Mrs. Nancy Hughes was honored with a surprise birthday dinner at her home near Laurens Sunday. A large number of children and grand children were prsent. A bountiful dinner was served. The dining table was centered with the decorated birthday cake in colors of white and green. Birthday and Anniversaries Sandra Smith celebrated her birth day June 26. Jerry Satterfield will be 6 years old June 30 Tom Burnett will have a birthday ; tomorrow. Sarah Alice Satterfield’s birthday is July 5. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Practicing For Play- Members of the Luncheon club are practicing daily from 1:00 to 2:00 o'clock on the play, “The Old Maid's Convention,’’ to be presented July 16 at 8 p.m. Swimming Party Held A playground swimming party was held Thursday afternoon at Cur ry’s Lake with thirty-eight boys and girls attending. Swimming, dancing and bowling furnished entertainment for the group. Late in the afternoon a pic nic lunch was served. Miss Kath ryn Eichelberger and William Patter son were adult advisors. Worpan's^ Club Meeting Postponed Thursday, June 30, the afth Thurs day in the month, no meeting of the Woman’s club will be held. Since vacation at Lydia Mills begins July 2 the date of the next regular club . meeting will be July 21. ‘ ^ Vacation Bible School Closes Vacation Bible school at the Lydia Mills Presbyterian church closed Sunday evening with a commence ment program in which primary, junior and intermediate boys and girls participated. A display of the w ork by the children gave a‘ keynote to the type of training as did the ex- I ercises in which all groups partici-j pated Certificates were awarded all children completing the course.
