CLINTON REALTY & INSURANCE CO. B. Hubert Boyd Phone 6 make it work. At least, this is what Mr. Stalin thinks. Stalin's Goal Therefore, Stalin’s goal is to elim- j inate Capitalism. Anyone responsi- ;ble for making a success of com mu- J nism would probably have the same aim as, Stalin. The Labor govern- Imen in England is gradually coming to this same conclusion. It is not ruthless like the Communists, but ev en their leaders believe that their 1 success depends upon having the same program adopted by all other! loading countries. Therefore, it is possible that, as soom as Russia gets the atomic bomb she may blow up the big cities, of! Finance—Mrs. W. P. Knight. 4-H—Mrs. Robert Cain. Health—Mrs. H. O. Abecrombie. Next to Bailey’s Bank Phone 423 would be only one step to her cam paign of destroying Capitalism. Her hope would be that—with our big cities destroyed—a Socialistic system* would be needed to operate our re maining industries. This would al so eliminate un^'ue competition from industries in communistic nations’. What Will Communists Do? If this is their program then, when the Russians get the atomic bomb,! they may get these bombs planted, j by their own friends, in the center j-of our big American cities. It would- 1 be easy to get them over here in ' trunks, or in bales of goods. They 1 'could be smuggled ■ across our .bor ders in automobiles, trucks or air-f I planes with being detected by cus- | tom examiners. Then the Russian j i agents could deposit these in their 1 boarding houses in our big' cities un- ! til the time came to explode them at ! a certain moment on a certain day.! Time clocks could be used so that ; the Russians wo ( uld have time to get away. Thus all these cities could be .'destroyed at a certain set hour. Of course, the Russians would ex- | pect that we would retaliate with ourj uupiuaes. -Ua the- utiiec huad,.how can we then prove that it is the Rus sian government, or the Spanish 1 1 government, : or the Argentine gov- lernment that does the damage? Of 1 course, the time would be selected ; when we are more or less in a row: i with all of these governments. There- ! 1 fore, our big cities could be com- : i pletely destroyed without our know- i ing for sure who destroyed them and | certainly without war having been declared. What the final result would be nobody can foretell. With a dozen : of our biggest cities destroyed, there! would not be much hope for Capital-! ( ism for many years to come. Thus,! ! the purpose of the communists would’ ; have been attained. They might! try to have a hand in the govern ment of the_United States; but it would then be taken over by the people of the smaller cities and ru ral communities, largely the people of our Central West. _____ Lf my prognostications come about, which I hope they will not, it cer tainly means that the people of our Central West will someday have a great opportunity and responsibility. The question is are these people now preparing for such even though it may be a remote possibility? i; Notice if ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS The Laurens county group of Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Tuesday evening at 8:30 over Sumerel’s store in Lau rens.
