A feature of the party was a mis cellaneous shower of gifts for the honoree’s home. Mrs. Milam has re turned to Clinton after spending some time in Corpus Christi, Texas, with Mr. Milam who is in the navy. Blakely Reunion Held At Pro Tuesday The annual reuttion of the de scendants of Ludy and Milton Blake ly was held at the Ora community house on Tuesday. Mos^ branches of the families were represented. The welcome was extended by S. H. Byrd of Ora, W. E. Blakely of Kings Mountain, N. C., president of the group, read the scripture, prayer was offered by Rev. W. C. Alexander, and songs were led by Rev. J. Calvin Smith of Monticello, Ark. A bounteous picnic lunch was served on the grounds. During the afternoon Rev. W; M. Smith Miss Frances Ruth Singley of this city, and Spartanburg, became the bride of Hugh C. Smith of Spartan burg and Oakland, Ualif., in a quiet ceremony taking place Friday after noon at 6 o’clock. The rites were performed by Dr. W. B. Garret at the parsonage of Central Methodist church in Spartanburg. The bride, an attractive brunette, wore a dress of fall blue with access ories in black and a corsage of pink rosebuds. Miss Louise Singley, sister of the bride, and William Smith of Clemson, brother of the groom, attended the! ceremony. Mrs. Smith is. the oldest daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Singley of this city. She was graduated from Clinton high school and for the past three years has held a position with the National Beta club in Spartan- burg. v _ Mr. Smith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Smith of . Oakland, Cali fornia, formerly of Spartanburg. AJter serving for two years and a half in the navy he resumed • his education at Clemson where he was a member of the senior class. Chandler has returned home from Korea where he spent the past ten months serving as clerk- typist. He entered the service in March, 1946.
