Mission Study Closes The Mission Study class of the Woman’s Society of Christian Ser vice held their last meetings last week. On Monday at the home of Mrs. J. M. Ross with Mrs. J. L. Ab rams leading the discussions. Mrs. Ross served a sweet coure. On the following Tuesday the class met with Mrs. J. J, Abrams. Mr. Galloway is the new superintendent of the Tren ton school. Woman’s Club Meets ' On last Thursday night the Joanna Woman’s club held its regular monthly meeUng. Mr* G. N. Foy, the new president, presided and call ed the meeting to order. She wel comed the visitors. Mrs. Johnny Colontino, Mrs. Pinson and Mrs. Maurice Davenport. During the business hour Mrs. Foy presented the new program chair man, Miss Mildred Bozard, who gave an interesting outline of the year’s activities. Miss Ruth Hair reported in an unusual way the points ol in terest of the Florida, trip. Clayton 1 Perrault showed a colored movie of the club while in Florida. Also the activities of July 4th at Goldville. Rrefreshments of sandwiches, a salad course, and orange juice were served by Mrs. Fiank Trotter and her group. . I With The Sick Friends fo Mrs. Floyd Abrams are glad to see her out again after being a patient at flays hospital. We are glad to have Mrs. Horace Hamm back at her home on Pickens street. Mrs. Hamm underwent an operation in Spartanburg. In Barber School Phil Dudley and Winnie Bridges hvae enrolled in a barber school in Columbia and left Tuesday. Revival Services Being Held The Baptist revival is now in prog ress. Services are held each eve ning at 7 o’clock. The visiting min, ister is Rev. Joe Parson. The public is cordially invited to attend. Birth Announcement Mr .and Mr.s Billy Gilreath of Charleston, announce the birth of a son, Jimmy Rodney, on July 20. Mrs. Gilreath was formerly of Goldville. Birthday Dinner Mrs. Louie Prater was guest of day given by Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph honor at a birthday dinner on Sun- Prater at their home on Pickens street.
