IT Meadors-Ficklin Rites On, Sunday, June 29, at 3 o’clock Miss Earline Meadors became the bride of Durell Ficklin at the Mills Mill Baptist church parsonage in Woodrifff. Rev. Ralph D. Hughes of ficiated using the double ring cere mony. . . For her wedding tne bride wore a street length dress of white with matching accessories and a corsage of red roses. Mrs. Ficklin is the daughter of Mr. and M*s. J.-C. Meadors'of this city. Mr. Ficklin is the son of Mrs. M. T. Ficklin and the late Mr. Ficklin also of this city. Immediately after the ceremony the young couple left for a week’s trip through the Blue Ridge and Great Smoky mountains. They are now making their home with the groom’s mother. Mother-Daughter Banquet The Ever-Ready class of Calvary Baptist church enjoyed a mother- daughter banquet at the home of their teacher, Mrs. Joe Campbell, on Thursdajf'evenlng. Places were laid for twenty at the prettily appointed tables which had a centerpiece of red candles and roses. Mrs. Durrell Ficklin, rebent bride, w^s presented a beautiful pottery .Drop-In Party On Wednesday evening Mrs. J. E. Braswell, Sr., was given a drop-in party in celebration of her birthday by Mrs. W.* E. Braswell and Mrs. Cecil Wooten. Mrs. Braswell, who is a shut-in, was given a host of gifts by her friends.
