Birthday Parties Given Mrs. Nell Huey gave a birthday party on Friday 'honoring her little son, Charles, who was celebrating his 7th birthday. After an hour of games the little guests were invited into the dining room where refershments were served. Charles received a host of gifts. Closing Program At Bell Street School Closing school exercises at Bell Street school began Friday evening with the annual oratorical and de clamatory contest. The program will continue this evening with May Day activities, and will continue as follows for the com mencement season. Monday, May 5—-6th and 7th Grades—“The Crossroads Store,” a Beatrice Hyman celebrated her 12th birthday with a party at the home of her aunt, Mrs. W. D. Gilbert. There were twelve little boys and girls present who enjoyed the oc casion. • Refreshments were served later in the evening. Beatrice was remembered with a gift from each guest. > On Saturday afternoon Mrs. C. H. Robinson entertained 15 little boys and girls with a party honoring her nephew, William Patterson’s birth day. Several games were played after which ice cream, and cake was served by the hostess. About, thirty-five guests remembered Aunt Nell Duna way who was celebrating her 78th birthday with a useful gift < Several games and contests were enjoyed. Richard Foster were united in mar riage April 26. * " The impressive ring ceremony was performed by Rev. J. O. Watson. For her wedding she wore a white gabardine suit with white accessor ies. Her shoulder corsage was red rosebuds. Mrs. Foster graduated from Clin ton high school in 1946 and has been holding a position with the Bell Tele phone company in Carrollton, Ga. Sgt. Foster is stationed at the Greenville air base. They will make their home with Sgt. Foster’s par ents, Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Foster, for the present. With The Sick Mrs. W. E. Braswell is recuperat ing at her home after an operation at the local hospital. Mrs. W. E. Owen is improving j after being ill the past three weeks. Walter Nix underwent treatment at the local hospital Saturday for injuries received in a car wreck. Mrs. William Cannon is ill. George Price underwent an arm operation Saturday at the local hos pital. i Mrs. Doshie Smith is improving at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. H. Roland, and Mr. Roland. r Willie Sanders has pneumonia. Mrs. H. E. Berry has been ill sev eral days. « Mrs. Mable Tucker is imporving after being ill. Tony Hooper has chicken pox. Friends of J. C. Lowe are glad to know he is improving. Mrs. R. C. Oxner is a patient at the local hospital.
