Beta Club Meets With Lillian Dillard Monday evening Lillian Dillard entertained members of the Beta club of the high school at her home on North Broad street. . As president of the group, Lillian welcomed the members and honored guests. W. R. School Group Holds October Meeting The October meeting of the Florida Street School Parent-Teachers asso ciation was held Tuesday evening in the auditorium of the school. The meeting opened with the, group singing “America,” followed jby the invocation by Dr. W. R. Tur- 'ner. Miss Elise Merriam sang “God Bless America.” After the business session, the president, Mrs. H. E. Spencer, intro duced Mayor P. S. Bailey, who gave an informative talk on the city gov ernment, stressing what Clinton is doing, the needs of the community, and also what the administration hopes to see undertaken in the near future. Following the program a social hour was enjoyed. j Musgrove Club Holds October Meeting The Musgrove Home Demonstra tion club held its October meeting at the school house on Thursday after noon with several visitors present. Among the guests was Miss Luz Uzcategue, of Venezuela, South America. Mrs. J. A. Lancaster conducted the , devotional from the fourth chapter of Philippians. The roll call was an swered with a choice of “the most ; helpful demonstration during the year.” Following the reading of the min utes, plans were made to attend the district meeting in Nfewberry. Those present joined in singing “Dreaming,” after which Miss Louise Fleming, home demonstration agent, gave an interesting talk on "^Health ful Living in the Community.” She stressed the importaftce of starting the day with a good breakfast. At the close of the meeting the hostesses, Mrs. J. A. Lancaster and ' Mrs. Edwin Cunningham, served re freshments. The November meeting will be at jthe home of Mrs. J. R.
