L * f - ■ i , We Are Vitally Interested In Three Things (1) TRANSPORTATION . .. as related to keeping the war effort moving at top speed. (2) YOU ... as our customer. (3) OUR RESPONSIBILITY ... as concerns both Service and Sales. There MUST BE NO LET-UP in keeping essential Trucks and Cars repaired and rolling. We now have most of the necessary essential parts. Our combined Parts Inventories are now at the highest dollar value in the history of Clinton’s Automotive Industry. Although the skilled manpower situation is still bad it is now improving ip the point where we CAN meet your essential requirements. We realize that it is OUR RESPONSIBILITY to not only keep your car rolling but to _ keep you, as our customer, posted as nearly as possible, under present changing conditions, as to when you may expect New Cars and in what quantities. According to all information we can gather, we believe the following to be true: (1) There has been too much misleading publicity about new cars. (2) There are over 40,000 New Car dealers in ttye U. S. and the 1945 quota of New Car production is only 200,000 cars—IF MATERIAL IS AVAILABLE. This will mean less than'20 New Cars for Lau rens, a county of over 42,000 population. (3) All New Cars will be rationed by the Government or the manufac turers for at least one or two years. (4) New Cars in anything like salable quantities will not be available for at lest one year to 18 months. i ■ (5) It will take from 3 to 5 years to supply the present demand for New Cars. / ' ' t (6) Used Cars are wearing out and being taken off the road at the pres ent rate of over 5,000 per day. (7) The first New Cars will be 1942 Models “with faces lifted.” New designs will be 18 months to two years away. —: ^ ^ • — Regardless f*.. of who your dealer is, or where you have your service work and reconditioning done, TAKE CARE OF YOUR PRESENT CAR, and don’t let wishful thinking put you to walking. * * , ' . i ;• *|| ■ Your New Car Dealers Giles Chevrolet Co.
