Thursdoy, October 7, 1943 THE CLINTON CHRONICLE, CLINTON, S. C Page Five ! Y < How To Grade Butter To Be Demonstrated Miss Louise Fleming, county home demonstration agent, has announced a butter grading demonstration to be given Saturday, October 9, in the club market building in Laurens, be ginning at 10 a.m. and lasting until lour with two-hour intermission for lunch. Each person who comes for the purpose of learning, she said, must bring a pound of butter, a paring knife and must practice scoring at the demonstration. The home agent will give the dem onstration, she said, and then the learners will score for comparison. In connection with her announce ment, she released the following rul ing: “The OPA has ruled that ceiling prices on all farm made butter must be determined by grade and pack ing. This means that the farm pro ducers of butter may score his or her own butter, provided only that his or her own score be done from knowledge of scoring gained through information received direct from ex tension service marketing specialists or farm and home agents. Extension service representatives will not in any case actually score farm butter in any manner by which the produc er would be able to use that score in sales. It must be emphatically un derstood that the farm producers are to sell on his own grade but such grade is made after receiving proper instructions from extension service representatives."
