Xc^iler held odist par- r, ihiMit "open house" at the Methodist sonage on last Wednesday, members of Sie congregation to oall during the evming. A number of ladies of the tihtarck assisted in entertaining in the vari ous rooms and served tea, cookies and candies in the dining room from a beautifully appointed tea table adorned with holly and red candles in silver hdlders. The buffet was at tractive with a similar arrangement, and elsewhere in the home ever greens with bright berries and can dles were used. The mantels were esivecially effetive with garlands of holly. Informal music, including t number of Christmas carols, was en joyed by gMsts who called. W. C. T. U. Holifc December Meeting Mrs. L. Ross Lynn was hostess on Friday afternoon to members of ttte Icxral Woman's Christian Temperance union ,for the December meeting. Mrs. R. F. Adair gave the devo tional 'after udiich Mrs. Lynn con ducted a program on "Prayor.'' Mrs. Alex Hmry read a Christmas poem. The program closed with the singing of "God Savu Our Men." During a social hour the hostess added beauty to the setting for the occasion. Mrs. Smith was educated in the niomwell schools and received her bachelor of arts degree from Pres byterian college in June. She holds a position in the office of the college. 7 Mr. Smith is stationed with the lor cal national guard unit at Camp Stewart, Ga. ters, which was solemnized Wednes day afternoon, December 17, at the ohi'home of the bride at Salters. The impressive-ring ceremony was performed by the bride's pastor, the Rev.xJ. G. Walker of Greelyville, pastor of the Union Presbyterian church, in the presence of members of the immediate families and close relatives. The .wedding music was furnished by Mrs. W. J. Felkel. The candles were lighted by Miss Lillian Dillard of Clinton, cousin of the bride. The petite bride entered on the arm of her father, Thomas Edward Salters, by whom she was given in marriage. She was unusually attrac tive in her wedding costume, con sisting of an ensemble of winter white featuring a tailored frock of white cashmere, street length coat of white wool with which she used black accessories. A corsage of pink roses and bouvardia completed her costume. She wore as her only oma- m<mt a lavalliere of pearls and dia- memds, worn by her mother at the time of her maxriage. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Willard Odom, as best man. < Immdiately after the ceremony an informal reception was held. Mrs. Odom is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edward Sal ters, of Salters.
