A special alumni luncheon will be
held in the dining hall at noon, fol
lowed by briefs talks and the elec
tion of alumni officers for the com
ing year.
The feature attraction fiar the day
will be the gridiron clash at 8 o’clock
in the evening between the Blue
Stocking eleven and the strong selec
tive service team from Spartanburg's
Camp Croft. The game with\Camp
Croft was scheduled last week to re
place the one scheduled for this date
with Oglethorpe which was cancel
led by'Oglethorpe. The Georgia
school requested that the game be
called off since six of its linemen
have been inducted into the army
and several other players are out
from injuries. ^
The Croft gridders will be one of
the Hosemen’s strongest opponents
of the season. The game will be wit
nessed by a large tvun-out of Camp
Croft soldiers who, it is stated, will
be furnished transportation here.

With Mr. and Mrs. Gargantua the
Great, the world’s most publicized

Bailey circus will exhibit in Green
ville on Tuesday, Nov. 4, bripging to
mat city .1,600 people, 50 elephants,
1,009 menagerie animals and hun
dreds of horses. The performances
will start at 2:19 and 8:15 p. m., with
the doors open at 1 and 7 p. m., ad
mitting the public to the radically
restyled menagerie, gorilla tent, horse
fair and big top-^ redesigned by
Norman Bel Geddes, of New York
World’s Fair Futuraina fame.

Thirty-six In EJadergarten
Thirty-six boys and girls are now
enrolled in the Lydia Mill kindmgar-
ten, with an average attendance of
28 for the past week. Mrs. D. J.
Brimm of Clinton, has been secured
to assist the regular teachers. Mrs.
Brimm meets with the kindergarten
group twice weekly, Tuesday and
Friday.

An interesting meeting of the Jolly
Girls club was held at the Scout
cabin Monday afternoon at four
o’clock. Dr. Brabham, of Laurens,
discussed the topic, "Beauty Throuidi
Health.” Twenty-four girls were
present at the meeting. Miss Esther
