In sixty-five of them, this Company is providing and maintaining the telephone fa cilities. Necessary switch boards and other equipment and more than 66,000 miles of telephone wire in cables have already been installed. Addi«. donal equipment will be pro^!"^ vided as required. Nearly $40,000,000 will be spent this year by Southern Bell for new construction and general expansion to meet the South's increasing telephone needs.
