Odds And Ends Club Entertained At Supper For the regular monthly meeting Methodist Society Holds Bible Study Meet At the regular monthly meeting of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service of Broad Street Methodist church on Monday aftembon a Bible' study on the boede, “Jesus and Social Redemption,” wa* heard. Devotional and prayer were given by the pastor. Rev. L. P. McGee, af ter which he spoke interestingly on a diapter from the study book. During a biuiness meeting the group voted to send a cash contribu-' tion to Chinese war victims for med- j ical supplies. Announcement was made of the annual state meeting of! the society at Washington Street' Methodist church in Columbia on Jjdarch 28 and 27. Mrs. Todd Entertains Friends At Dinner The home of Mrs. Huber^ Todd wa.<i the scene of an attractive party on Monday evening when she enter tained a number of friends at dinner. The receiving rooms were prettily decorated with bouquets of spring flowers. An interesting feature of the party was the St. Patrick’s day mo- i tif which was charmingly carried out ' in decorations, table appointments 'and entertaimrient. Military Ball, KA Dance Feature Week-End Events The annual military ball and pa rade sponsored by the Reserve Offi cers’ 'iS^ining corps of Presbyterian college began Friday evening at 7 o’clock with the traditional “moon light parade” and review on Jcrfin- son field. At ten (^ciock the ball began at the armoryiwith music by the Col-j lege “N” orraestra of Newberry. 'Hie! armory was festive in its attractive! patriotic decorations of red, white i and blue.
