This he de- clii^ with th< statement, “thanks Boss, but I am going back to Clinton, to the man I Uiinks most of than anybody else on earth.” While Andrew was in the hospital' Mrs. Duncan and fapiily visited him and he was much touched by their coming. His passing breaks a tie of friendship that had existed between ployer and employee for thirty- six years, a most unusual record of faithfulness and devotion. Uwis W. The funeral service was held yesterday near his former home at Whitmire. Andrew as a young Negro went to the late W. J. Duncan 36 years ago' as an employee, Mr. Duncan at that! mne residing in the Whitmiie scetton.; When Mr. Duncan moved to Clinton, in 1920 and became manager of tlto Peoples Bonded Warehouse, he' brought his faithful and trusted ser-1 vant Andrew, with him, and until his health failed/a few months ago he was employed at the warehouse by Mr. Duroan. The death of Mr. Duncan in February was a great sor row to Andrew. y There was an unusual and strong attachment between Mr. Duncan and his family, and Andrew. When the latter was called into service during the World war * he requested Mr. Duncan to exchange pocket knives with him as a sign of good luck that he would not be kilM in France.
