HAS PROM PARTY Friday afternoon Rufus Sadler, Jr., delightfully entertained a number of 'friends at a prom party. The home was beautifuily decorat ed in spring flowers, makii^ a love ly bacKground for the occasion. During the evening proms, and an Easter egg hunt U’ere enjoyed. Punch was served throughout the evening. Eight couples enjoyed the delight- " ful affair. ' LOVELY PARTIES BY MRS. HARRY NETTLES- Mrs, Harry Nettles entertained last week with a series of unusually lovely 'bridge parties. Guests were invited for four tables on Wednesday after noon and for three tables on Thurs day afternoon. Mixed gaiden flowers in artistic arrangements made a spring-like set ting for the parties. Mrs. T. F. Wallace of Columbia, assisted her sister, Mrs. Nettles, in serving a delicious salad course on both occasions. ORPHANAGE BOYS GIVEN EASTER PARTY The boys of the poultry depart ment at the orphanage were honored on Saturday afternoon when Mr. and Mrs. Waldo C. Huffman entertained at a most enjoyable Easter party. An egg hunt was an interesting fea ture of the afternoon’s entertain ment. Later a delicious picnic sup- jwr was served. LITTLE FOLKS ENJOY ' * BIRTHDAY OUTING In the lovely woodland section near ' College View, Miss Jane Sturgeon entertained with a delightful picnic for the little folks of her Sunday school class, at the First Presbyte- ,riaij church, on Saturday afternoon. After the playing of games, they were in vited out on the lawn where they were entertained with a fascinating egg hunt. Blake, of Anderson, is a gradu ate of Preabyterian college, Clinton, and of Vanderbilt university. Howard of Farmington, Connecticut, announce the engagement of their daughter Elizabeth, to HT” Parker, Jones of Beaufort, S. C. The date of the mar- rifge will be announced later. Miss Howard is a graduate of the Oxford School in Hartford, Conn., and of Smith college. She has been prominent in Junior League work in her home town. Mr. Jones is a son^of Dr. and Mrs. Dudley Jones of this city, where he is well^^known by many friends who will be interested in the announcement of his approaching‘marriage. He is a grraduate of Presbyterian college and has done poet-graduate work at the Uniaertity of Virginia. For the pact six years he has been teaching in Beaufort where he holds the position of co-principal of the high school. ' * - - ■*.- Camp To Hold “Open House” CCC To-Celebrate Fourth Anni- versary of Org:anization With Special Prosrrani Saturday, Sunday and Monday. ^ Along with hundreti.n of other camps throughout the nation, ('amp SC F'-IO, eight miles east of Clinton on state highway No. 7, will hold “open house’’ on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, April 3-5. The occasion^ marks the fourth anniversary of the organization of the Civilian Con-ser- cation Corps. C!apt. L. A. Brooks, directing head of the camp, has ex tended a most cor^R^ invitation to the people of Clinton and rim vicinity to visit and "inspect the camp during these three days. Visiting ■*‘hours Mrill be from 9 a. m. to 12 noon, from 1:30 p. m. to 6:30 p. m., and for all visitors an escort will be~ provided over the camp area and buildings fo explain just how a CCC camp is op erated. An interesting program for the “open house’’ celebration has been provided under the direction of the educational division. On Saturday at 2:30, a baseball game .will be played between the CHntoh and Whitmire camps. Sunday at 2 p. m. an anniversary program will be presented with May or P. S. Bailey of this city, and Dr. A- A. Sima-of ColumWa, as gruest speakers. On Monday evening*at 7:30 a CCC minstrel show will be staged with a free admission. Investigate Titles For Buzzard Roost R. W. It is understood that the investigation of titles necessary to be acquired will be made at ah early date, and all options for purchases closed as soon as the work can be completed.
