The report showed that the sea* port and its county paid more beer and wine taxes, based, upon consump* tion, than any other city and county. Columbia and Richland county lead in the liquor tax returns. It also set ^orth that revenue from beer and winA levies had increased approximately 50 per cent in April, May and June, 1936, the period cov ered, over the same period in 1935, although there was no competition from legal liquor during the 1935 months.
