Girls’ Club Meets At the meeting of the Joannk Girls’ club on Tuesday evening an interest ing and impressive Mother’s day pro gram was rendered, with Miss Jessie Mae Gaskin in charge. Owens as one of the best had known. He added: “In 1932 I made my first effort in politics and naturally- was green in the businees. Sheriff Owens was always exceeding ly nice and jcourteous to me and never showed any resentment towards me as an opponent in the race.” He further stated, “From my ex perience as an officer I have come to the conclusion that the prevention of law violation i^ as important in the enforcement of law and the mainte- nance of peace as the apprehension of violators.
