The little band of senators who led the fight against the NRA even before it was finally felled by the supreme court was openly skeptical of the reso lution despite assurance-from Presi dent Roosevelt that the anti-trust laws would be fully restored. S. W. SUMEREL Aetna-ber Next Door to Western Union Phone 80 ACUTE INDIGESTION About half the deaths in our com munity this year have been ascribed to acute indtg®®tion. This, I must con fess, is strange to me; for, in all of my more than 40 years’ experience, I have never lost a patient in that way. I have treated acute tffdtgeatloti'It times, all of my life, front little Wil liam’s case of green apples, to the old Soak’s debauch of the night before; severe cases they might have been— and I have never been boastful of su perior skill; ibut, I have been a firm stickler for correct diagnosis. There is no question in nty mind that, all deaths from supposed acute indigestion, had some well-grounded case of heart or lung or "stomach dis ease back of them, and that, these had not been recognized as they should have been. ^ Recently an iicquaintance was strick en, and died in a few moments; the cause was given as “acute indigfe- tion.” I am sure that he had chronic heart disease! Another died suddenly, •which shocked a great circle of friends; he possibly died of carbon monoxide poisoning, although his death w'as reported due to acute indi gestion.' There are just two problems to acute indigestion: first, the acquiring of a poison, and second, the getting rid of it; but' don’t nurse a serious, chronic disease until acute indigestion comes along. » Home-coming day will b® observed at the Joanna Cotton Mills, Goldville, on July 4-th, with a cordial invitation extendi all former residients and em ployees of that community to return for the eventful day. In the morning there will be interesting races, various contest matches, and the swimming pool will remain open all day. In the afternoon there will be baseball and other events to interest the large croYfd that is expected. Gray Funeral Home Clinton, S, C.
