With five precinct books yet to hear from, the enrollment of voters for the Democratic primary in Laurens eoun- j ty already exceeds the total • enroll ment of four years ago, according to figures compiled Tuesday by .Ralph T. Wilson, coUnty chairman. , With the five books missing the to tal enrollment is already 8,994, he said, and the missing books will prob- abily run this total up to approximate ly 9,500. The enrollment four years ago, he said, was about 8,600, making the increase nearly 1,000. There was no new enrollment two years ago. The five missing books are from Renno, Ora, Mt. Pleasant, Daniel's Store and Mountville, which have a total estimated enrollment of around 600 as based on the figures of four years ago. The following is a list of the pre cincts so far reported and the number enrolled in each: Lydia 325 Watts Mills 688 Hickory Tavern 240 Owings 172 Barksdale-Narnie 108 Trinity-Ridge 76 Poplar Springs 191 I^angston 49 Jones’ Store 186 Merna — 58 Goldville .... 523 Princeton ^ 105 Cook’s .... ..V 159 Laurens .... ...1680 Laurena Mills ‘462 LanJord .... . . 91 Woodville 269 Mt. Sixty-six of this number plan to attend the county^ short course next week. This gives an excellent av erage of .attendance as there are only one hundred and seventy-five club girls in the county. The swimming pool will be open to the club girls, which will be an added feature to the recreational program. Miss Gilliam is announcing that Wed nesday, August 6, will be parent day at the college. It is hoped that all of the mothers and fathers who wish to visit and inspect the college buildings and grounds will come on this day. The home agent will also be glad to have them attend the short course meetings at this time. Due to the fact that the college will be unable to fur nish dinner to the visitors, those par ents wishing to come arc asked to I bring picnic lunch. Great plans are j being made for a fine program to be carried out. During the three days’ stay at P. C. it is hoped that this pro gram w)l be of great educational ad vantage to every club girl attending. Club Records In order to receive a certificate in club work during the past year, every club member must have nor !ecord card complete and 24 jars of vege tables and fruits canned by August 15. These records must be sent to the county agent’s office. If a club mem ber (^ails to attend the monthly meet- 4ng of the club or if the club does not have its regular meeting in August, every club girl is asked to mail her record to Miss Gilliam within the next two weeks. It is hoped that 50 per cent of the club girls wil complete their records for the past year’s work- and receive certificates of merit. Child Life—five months for $1.00.
