Commissioner To Be Petitioned Dur ing Stay in Charlotte by Minister Recently Convicted of Bigamy. Charlotte, N. C., bct. 15.r-Attomeys for the Rev. Willis T. Jordan, convict ed of bigamy and sentenced to serve Jii months 1 to two years in the state penitentiary, will not go to Raleigh to make an appeal for pardon before Gov. McLean, they announced tonight. When it was learned today that Par don Commissioner Edwin B. Briggs was coming to Charlotte and would be here for several weeks, Tom P. Jimi- son of the minister’s counsel, declared the Raleigh trip would be unnece.s- sary. _ The commissioner will enter a hos pital for treatment.
