Columbia, April 22.—Governor Rich- tards this morning signed the “omni bus” revenue act, ratified by the leg islature this week, and the levies pro vided in the new law take effect im mediately. "" The taxes under this act are on doc uments, tobaccos, ammunition, play-j ing cards, cut glass, sporting goods, ; amusement admissions, candies and i soft drinks and a contractors license. The state tax commission is imme-i diately taking steps to collect the new taxes and the increased levies un der the act., W. G. Query, chairman of the commission, stated today that dealers throughout the state and the inspectors of the tax commission are being notified and the collection of the taxes nder the new law will begin at once. The tax commission had made preliminary preparations, following the ratification of the measure by the general assembly and the effective by thd first consignee within the state within 72 hours after they come into his possession.
