Jacobs, Sr., and Miss Clara Duckett. o MISS LEILA NORMAN ENTERTAINS CLASS On Thursday afternoon Miss Leila Norman entertained in honor of her sight singing class. Each member was allowed to invite a friend. A marshmallow roast was thoroughly enjoyed and the members present were: Margaret Moorhead, Agnes and Elizabeth Milling, Ernestine, Chaney and Jamie Little. LOVELY COURSE DINNER On Monday evening Mr. and Mrs. Pringle Copeland entertained with a lovely course dinner. The guests in cluded: Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Copeland, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. TODD FAMILY REUNION One of the enjoyable occasions of the holidays was the family reunion held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. G. Fuller dispensed gracious hospitality on Christmas eve when they entertained in honor of their sorts, Messrs. Glpnn and Rupert Fuller. Many bright decorations were in keeping with the festive season and those invited to enjoy the elegant course dinner were: Messrs. Glenn and Rupert Fuller, Rogers Harrell, Hubert and Hansel Boyd, James Pitts, Elliott Hall, Jack Davis, William Gray, Joe Mason, Silas Bailey, Dudley Jones and P. H. Bomar. WEATHERS-STEVENS . WEDDING A marriage of interest, as well as surprise, was solemnized last Thurs day when Miss Margie Weathers, principal of the Copeland school in this county, and Mr. Edward Stevens of this city, were united in marriage. The ceremony was performed at the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. Edward Long, pastor of the First Baptist church of this city, and was attended by only a few intimate friends. The groom is well known here HAPPY HOLIDAY REUNION . A happy holiday reunion was that of the family of Mrs. S. A. Philson and Mrs. Agnes Kern. 'All eight of <4 Granny” Philson’s children were present, and of the thirty grand children fifteen were present, and of nine great grand children two were present. All five of Mrs. Kern’s children celebrated the lovely occa sion. The gathering was held on Satur day and those to give first-hand in formation for years to come regard ing the home-coming of this happy family are: Mr. and Mrs. W. H. The ceremony waa performed at the Pres byterian manse by the Rev. R. A. Lapsley, and attended by only a few intimate friends. The young couple left immediately for a short wedding trip t^o Atlanta, after which they will make their home in Columbia. The groom is a son. of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Adair of this city and has a wide circle of friends and relatives here who unite in extending best wish es and congratulations. - o — ENTERTAINS MEMBERS OF SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS On Monday afternoon Mrs. A. V. Martin, graciously entertained mem bers of her Sunday School class. An attractive feature of the occasion was the Jnforn of Korea, telling of the ^manner and customs of her far-away home. Miss Chay is a pupil at Agnes Scott and a house guest of Miss Elisabeth Lynn. After enjoying Miss Chay the guests were invited to the dining room where many treats awaited them. Coffee and tea were poured by Misses Fran ces Witherspoon ahd Frances Glas gow. The bride was one of Gray Court’s most, popular young girls, who will be missed on account of her person ality, as well as the rich mellow voice which she possessed. Only the contracting par ties’ families were present to witness this marriage, which waa performed by the pastor of both parties, the Rev. J. E. Mahaffey^ . Miss Rosa Mahaffey rendered some Mr. Triplett is a business man of Chester, being a member of the firm of Small and Triplett Construction company. BATES-FULLER WEDDING AT GREENVILLE Greenville, Dec. 27.—The wedding of Miss Elizabeth Bates of this city and Dr. Ellis Adam Fuller of At lanta at the First Baptist church was songs prior to the ceremony, Mrs. J. * beautiful and prominent social E. Just before the wedding party ar rived, Misses Frances Earle and Annie Bristow entered lighting the candles on the altar, their costumes crystals. The brides young Catherine Bates was junior maid of honor and was dressed like the brides- * maids. Miss Elizabeth’Graham waa maid of Konor and wore green chiffon and carried yellow chrysanthemums. Mrs. Douglas Potent was matron of honor gowned in pale green chiffon beaded with crystals, and carried an arm bouquet of yellow chrysanthe mums. The bride was given in mar riage by her father, William A. Bates, while the bridegroom was attended by his brother, Fred A. Fuller as best man. The bride was handsome in her wedding gown of white satin crepe, made sleeveless and with round neck. Pearl and crystal beads adorned the border and circular flounce at the bot tom of the skirt. A court train of Spanish lace, outlined in satin was mistily covered by the veil of tulle, which was held to the hair with or ange bloesoms. Her flowers were bride roses and valley liliee in shower effect. Immediately after the cere- * mony the bridal .party mid members of the two families attended a recep tion at the Bates home after which Dr. Fuller and his brido left ies a wedding trip. Mrs. Fuller's travel ing dress was of midnight blue poirret twill made with high neck and trim med with touches of red and black velvet ribbon.
