Mrs. Essie Atkins, of Greenville, is in the city nursing Mrs. Jennie Briggs, who is quite ill at her home on North Broadway. Mr. Henry Pyatt, of Greenwood, was in the city Wednesday en route to Georgetown to visit relatives. Fant was called to his home in Moline, 111., Sunday night, on account of the death of his sister, Mrs. C. O. Samuelson. Mr. and Mrs. P. S. Mr. Davis Holland and Miss Mary Chalmers spent Sunday in Newberry. After spending a week with rela tives, Mrs. Harvey Brannen has re turned to Statesboro. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Galloway and children were the holiday guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. McMillan. The friends of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Phinny, of Laurens, will regret to learn of the death of their infant son on December 2Gth. Mrs. J. F. Jacobs, Sr., and Mr. T. D. Jacobs motored to Spartanburg Saturday and were accompanied home by the latter’s children, little Thomas and Mary Nell Jacobs, who will spend several days with them. Little Frances and Florence Bailey of Augusta, spent the Christmas holi days with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. James Austin, of Char'estdn, have returned home after a visit with their parents, Dr. and Mrs. J. D. Austin.
