Omar Locklear, formerly with the air service of the army, today gave a demonstration, said to be the first in the annals of flying of catching a dangling rope, ladder from a second airplane and climbing into the craft j from which it hung. The feat was done at an altitude of 2,500 feet. He < had leaped from one plane to another in the air before, but never made an ascent from one plahe to another. The performance was one of the features of the day's flying events held here in connection with the panAmerican aeronautical convention. The inter-collegiate land plane race over a thirty-one-mile course was held today. Aviator Dunn, piloting a plane for Lieut. Jack Frost, of Princeton, won the race in sixteen minutes, six seconds.
