Ivey of Rowland was a visitor in the city Monday. The local board has received a call for 25 class one men to be sent to Camp Jackson on the 23rd. All persons needing assistance in Influenza cases are requested to phone Red Cross headquarters. Two more deaths among the colored population were reported to the Itealth authorities yesterday afternoon. TJie physicians report that the influenza epidomic is spreading through the country districts. A number of aevere cases have been reported. An engineer on the northbound local freight that luys over at Dillon every night was taken suddenly ill a mile out of town Monday and had to bring his train backto the Seaboard yards. The train did not proceed on its journey until another engineer was brought in from Hamlet. In treating influenza cases persons Are urged to give the patients plenty of fresh air. Open all the windows and doors in the sick room but do not let a draft blow on the patient's head. No person should be allowed in the sick room who does not wear a gauze mask, and no person should be allowed to go in the room under any circumstances unless they are waiting on the patient. James Mc. A. Campbell, son of Mr. eo. R. Campbell of Hamer, was reported among those missing when the American transport was torpeoded in mid-Atlantic last Tn??Ho? or ..... bell enlisted in the navy at Charleston last spring and had made several trips across the waters. Mr. Campbell was a most excellent young man and the news of jleath was received in Dillon with much sorrow. He waR the only son.
