Mr. W. E. Caldwell spent Sunday with his family at Gibson. Mrs. J. M. Gaddy is spending this week with Mrs. J. D. McKinley. Miss Deborah McKenzie visited Miss Cora McKinley last week. ^ Mrs. J. W. Miss Daisy Godbold left Tuesday for Glenn Springs where she will spend a few weeks. Dr. and Mrs. Joe Cabell Davis have returned from a visit to Mrs. Davis' father near Atllantta. Mrs. M. R. Matthews and little son are visiting relatives at Scranton. Judge R. A. 'Brunson has returned from a brief stfiy at Myrtle Beach. Mr. John George who lives near Columbia, was in town a few days this week. Mr. J. W. Gaddy was called to Myrtle Beach Monday by a message announcing the illness of his little son. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Baylor have returned from a very pleasant trip to Canada. They traveled by way of C incinatti. ' Mr. Gordon Baker, Hsq., of Florence, came over to spend the day with his family who are visiting at the home of Dr. Badger. Mr. Jas. W. Hamer and children are among the Dillonites at Saluda for a short stay during the hot spell. The Carmichael reunion held at the old Carmichael home last Friday near Pee Dee was well attended and greatly enjoyed. Miss Maria Michaux has gone to 4 Hendersonville, N. The party had a very successful trip until they reached the mountains when torrential rains caused them several annoying delays. Two tracts of land were sold at Master's sales Monday. One tract of 10 acres near the town of Sellers Was bid in by E. R. Hamer for Mrs. H. B. Berry and a onesixth interest in a 4 50 acre tract in Hillsboro township known as the Wm. McDonald estate was bid in by J. P. Dane, attorney, for Mrs. Sarah E. Muggins for $1,500. Diamond Dust. Dillon and Mulllns crossed bats last Friday, Dillon winning by a score of 7 to 4. Braddy's pitching and the fielding of Dillon were the features. The work of Smith for Mullins deserves special mention. Datta and Dillon played a very interesting game of ball Monday afternoon. Dillon outclassed Dat- j ta in every department. The features were few but the all around pitching of Johnson, who struck out twelve and allowed only four hits, deserves notiice. Whereas, our All-Wise Heavenly Father has seen best to remove from us our beloved friend and co-worker, be it resolved, FMrst, That in her death we feel deeply the loss of one who has proven a faithful member, giving to her church and friends the influence of her sweet, unselfish character, richly blessing those who knew her and stimulating to high Christian living. Second, That though we shall miss her dear companionship and helpful counsel still we recognize the hand of a wise Father, who doeth all things well, and we bow in humble submission to His will.
