' ' • We the undersigned Bankers, Merchants and Business men of the city of Florence, and Florence County wish to express our confi dence in the Co-operative Marketing Associations both Cotton and .Tobacco. Liverpool Tobacco Report and Comment Liverpool, Eng., Jan. 6.—The following comment is taken from the regular report by Edwards, Good man & Company: . ' “The most noticeable feature of the past year is the difference between the outcome of all American tobaccos to what the trade expected would happen fromra:' Ira'gerplanting. ^Whilst, the seasons were against an average production per acre, yet the advent of the Farmers’ Co-operative Associations to control raw tobacco has had most to do with the price, at which the free tobacco has been sold, this being CO per cent, higher than last year in the bright sections, and almost this in the west, taking grades into account.” ^ After the past year’s experience we are thoroughly convinced of the soundness of the new plan of marketing, and believe the method one by which the farmers can be assured of a fair and profitable price for their products each year. ti . * Our dealings with thie members of these associations were entirely satisfactory for 1922, and we are willing to show our further confidence by extending aid to all members worthy of credit, as far as we are able, for the year 1923.
