The town cart emptys tin cans, broken lamps and things of like kind in the road, making it danger ous for horses travelling over these places. We suppose the object is to fill up low places—which is a good one—but more mischief than good is likely to arise from empty ing broken glass and tin cans in such places, asserions injury might result to horses. I was troubled with constipation for several years, and frequently wont for nine days without my bowels moving. 1 spent several dollars for the cure of same, but without success. This last winter a salesman insisted on me buying some of Ramon’s Liver Pills and Tonic Pellets, remarking that they were the best, on earth.’ I laughed at the idea, hut purchased one dozen boxes. A man doesn’t want anything more than genuine satisfaction and ho can get that by selling to bacco in Florence. Florence has sot herself for the 3,(XX),000 pound mark this season. What push and energy and good prices can do is a great deal. The manufacturers want just such tobacco as is grown around Florence, and by bringing it to I Florence those who nave it to sell can get full value. In portions of Missouri the crop has Hustaimd great damage by hail and wind storms, and it has suffered injury from excessive rains in the South Atlantic States. There appears to be no material improvement in the condition of the cotton crop in the eastern sec tion of the belt. The bolls are opening rapidly and picking is progressing, but complaints of rust, rotting, shedding and sprout ing are still general. In the cen- tral section reports are somewhat more favorable, except in Missis- sippi, where the crop is seriously injured. In Texas the hulk of the crop is open and picking is pro gressing under favorable condi tions; the staple is clean though injurious insects and rust have de stroyed prospects of the late crop in many places. Tobacco cutting, housing and curing continue, and the bulk of the crop has been secured in gen erally excellent condition. In North Carolina, however, late to bacco is not curing well. The soil conditions have con tinued favorable for plowing for all seeding in most sections, and the reports generally inlicate this work to be yell advanced, except in Maine, New Jersey, Virginia and Texas, where plowing has been delayed owing to lack of rain.
