A too liberal use of oil sometimes causes nuts to work loose. A bad defect in many low-grade wheels Is the poor chain adjustment. The best way to leuu a wheel against any thing is with the saddle touching. There are few wheels which do not get one fall or more during a season. Filling a tire with n hand pump Is one of the worst tasks required of cyclists. A wheel out of true wilt carry a rider many miles, but It should not be made to do it. No sane rider will coast down a staap In cline unless a bralio is attached to bis bicycle. There are only 300 ’cyclists in Constanti nople. Turkey, though the population is 1,000,000. i ' The price of crude rubber has advanced thirty per cent, in England during the past six months. Bicycles are not playing much of a role in the present campaigns in Cuba and the Philippines, g It is not generally known that tho first bicycle built specially for a woman was in troduced in England in 1874. Htockholm, Sweden, has 11,627 wheelmen out of a population of 258.000, or about one for each twenty-two inhabitants. It is not a bad plan for those who are lucky and do not get punctures to look over their repair kits occasionally. A point about handle bars Is that many experienced wheelmen prefer not to have them fastened as tightly as possible In the head. The camera and the bicycle are seen to gether so frequently nowadays that the combination Is looked upon os a matter of course by the general public. Two of tho European principalities have appropriated sums for the purchase of bi cycles for army service. Saxony has voted 28,728 marks for tho purpose and Wurtem- burg has appropriated 16,646 marks. She became tired of waiting for me to come back and made up her mind to go to me, so her story, 'My Pink Pills made me walk,’ which she tells everyone who comes to our house, was then for the first time verified.
