Proprietor*. Death of Miss Adelaide Brown. Miss Louise Adelaide Brown, the eldest daughter of the late Jno. A. Brown, of Mars Bluff, and sister of Mrs. W. F. Clayton, died at the home of Mr. W. F. Clayton in this, city, last night at 12 o’clock. The funeral service will beheld at Miz- pah church to morrow morning at 10.30 o’clock where the interment will take place. Miss Brown was a woman of noble qualities and was 57 years old. She had been in feeble health for several years and on Friday last was stricken with pa ralysis. She sank gradually until death came to her relief. Her brother, Dr. Walter Brown, of Anniston, Ala., was at her bedside. Another brother, Dr. W. E. Brown of Manning, had been called to his home to see his patients, but he will return to Florence this eve ning. The funeral cortege will leave the home at 9 o’clock. Friends, relatives and acquaintances are in vited to attend. Florence Graded ^School. Florence, S. C., May 26.1898.— The Board of Commissioners of the Florence Graded School will hold an election for teachers of this School, on Monday, 6th June, 1898, at 10 o'clock a. m.
