This morning when the panada passed along the streets were crowded with people, and clown in his little snlky was iarronnded by a moving mass of itupanity- One of the witnesses in attend ance upon this term of court heard the big newspaper press of the Times-Messenger in motion the other afternoon and walked into the press room to investigate. After looking for several minutes at the great cylinder revolve he exclaimed, “that’s the biggest pin- der parcher 1 ever seed,” and dis appeared through the doorway. The exclamation, "The lion is oat!” created a sort of panic at the circus tent to-day. People stood not upon the order ot their going, but went. They fled precipitately, and the big ditch, just across the street, received many of them into its yawning depths. Some did upt stop until they got down town, completely out of breath. One gentleman, who did not run, said that a small wagon load of hats were scattered here, there and everywhere. But the lion all the while was safe in his cage. Tnams ooixo sooth.
