Turbo ville of the Coast Line, who is hero to-day, tells some interesting ex periences in connection with the capture of Purvis, the suspected murdered of Flagman Blackwell. Purvis was hurt by a train on the C. F. & Y. V. railroad near Man chester. One Nelson Williams took the injured man to his house, and it was from Williams that Mr. Turbeville procured the pistol. After Purvis had been jailed he frankly acknowledged to Mr. Fur- beville in the presence of the depu ty sheriff that he was the man chased by the hounds, and said furthermore that he threw his shoes away about 12 miles in the woods. Whea asked about His pistol he at first said he didn’t have one, but, when told by Mr. Turbeville that it was in his possession, he said, ‘Wei!, Mr George, you know more about it than I do.” The pistol is a 38-calibre, and shows evidence of having been recently shot. The suspected murderer is Ed gar Purvis of this city, and judg ing from the evidence, Mr. Turbe ville is confident he is the right man. Mr. Turbeville exhibited the following receipt: Received of Geo. S. Turbeville one Forehands Arms Co., Worcester, Mass, S. A* No. 303.014 nicl el plated pistol, one two, bladed pocket knife with the little b’ade broken off, and the measure of his track, that is, the track of the supposed murderer, Ed. Purvis. McD.
