When asked about Senator Me-
Laurin’e condition, be said that
the Senator’s trouble was nervous
prostration brought on by over
work, that his physician advised
complete rest, and that at all
events it would be several days
before be could join the Senatorial
campaign party.
This morning the governor left
Senator MoLaurin resting com
fortably and doing well, but as
there are only eight meetings to be
held it seems extremely doubtful
whether he will be able to join
the campargn party at all.
Governor Ellerbe took the morn
ing train for Marion.

We most respectfully ask our
subscribers to pay the carriers
promptly when they make their
rounds on Saturday morning."
This would be a great convenience
to the office, as 6 p. m., is the hour
of closing and the carriers cannot
deliver their papers, collect and
return by that time. The manage
ment will thoroughly appreciate a
substantial attention to this re
quest.

Why You should

BECAUSE
Payments are limited to a cer

Senator McLaurln Whom He Re
ported Doing Well.
Governor William H. Ellerbe
was here a few minutes this morn
ing en route to his home in Ma
rion. . He had just lift Senator
McLaurin at Bennettsville with
whom he spent the day yesterday.
The governor was seen at the
depot by a representative of the
Daily Times. He was in an ex
cellent humor, and talked pleas
antly upon topios of general inter
est. With reference to his trip
home he said that he supposed he
oould reet for a few days iu Ma
rion, ae he waa dubbed the “jay
bird” governor anyway. He said
furthermore that he could ae well
have no one dependent upon them,
but will themselves be dependent
upon others.
BECAUSE
Our premium is divided into
twelve equal parts, and you have
the option of paying it monthly,
quarterly, semi-annually or annual
ly, without extra cost.
BECAUSE
In our laws we do not make in
itiation and lodge attendance es
sential to membership.
BECAUSE
We offer insurance simply for
protection, and the annual differ
ence in the c6st of our plan and
that of the “old line” companies,
properly invested, will double any
dividend or cash surrender offered
by the “old line” companies.
BECAUSE
The Knights of Damon have
paid all legitimate claims promptly,
and will continue to do so.
BECAUSE
You do not know how soon your
family may need our protection,
and since death may be immediate,
protection should be immediate.
