The stock markets have felt the influence of the un settled state of affairs, both in this iuntry and Europe, the loss in Kew^rk reaching 2£ per cent. esterday, in American securities. The Irish-Americans are apparent ly anxious to serve the United States in a war with England and have offered to raise companies of volunteers in a number of places. Endorsements of his action con tinue to pour in upon President Cleveland, and he has the assur ance that should he call for them, volunteers would not be wanting in sufficient numbers to uphold the dignity of our country.
