Yesterday was John "Watts Crocker's
third day in the Richland courfty

seen by a reporter. Crocker is hold- 1

mentioned he "tightens up" and says
he has nothing to say.
Crocker was lying on his cot
cell when the reporter arrived anta
loud call was necessary to bring him
to his feet. The aged prisoner walked
with unsteady stride to the corridor,
where he stood with a grasp ori^ the
iron bars.
The prisoner was asked how he felt
and he said he was not feeling so
well. He was asked if he suffered
from the effects of rheumatism and
he replied, "J\'o, sir; I nave Deen ai^licted
with a case of pellagra.'*'/
jj Crocker was told that the coroner's
ijiury had ordered him held for the
filling of Mr. Davis and he was givpn-.

that his wife was the one who
killed Mr. Davis. The man's eyeflashed
when he looked the visitor in

Davis."
The prisoner was asked it" he had
been in trouble before and he raised
his right hand in the air and said: "I
