Rt'FF. \ Mr. Simeon Ruff was born in Lexington county, November 19, 1S27 and died in Saluda county, February 2, 1322, where he has made his home since 1865. He was a member of Cor? enth Lutheran church, Saluda county. Mr. Ruff was twice married, his first wife was a Miss Jane Harper, v then he married Miss Martha McCar! tha of Saluda, who died about 15 years ago. Governor Coper yesterday completed the signing cf all the acts and joint resolutions so far ratified by the I general assembly at the present session, 60 in number. Only a hali dozen statewide acts have been passed at . the present session, practically all of these being held over from las; vopr. The large majority have been local measures. Only two statewide acts were in those signed yesterday. They were the measure to further provide for the proving of wills in common form.and the act to punish any person making false statements about banks. Thi: 'bank slander" act, it is claimed, will afford much protection to the banks in South Carolina.
