Roof, one of Pelion's business men and an energetic citizen was here on business Monday, t Mr. JJ. K. Summer, one of the prominent farmers and citizens, near Peak, was here at the courl house Monday. Mr. Henry Knece, *one of the best farmers in the Swansea section was in town Monday on business. Mr. Sammie C. Gantt, a true blue, one armed Confederate soldier, from out on the Edisto, was a visitor in town Monday to receive his honored pension. Mr. Jacob Shumpert, from out on Black Creek, a warm friend and com. rad of "Uncle 'Josh." was in town ' Monday looking after his pension. Mr. J. K. Swygert, with as big, open heart as he is a man, and a valuable member of the grand jury, was here Monday. Two of his bright and promising daughters accompanied ' ji*in to our town,. Mr. M. Crouch, a good citizen and the sage of Leesville, was here Monday among others, looking after his pension. We were glad Monday, to meet at the court house, Mr. Julian Harman, the polite and efficient bookkeeper of Caughman Bros., Columbia, S. C. Fulmer, one of our model farmers of Peters section, says, while the boll weevils are not so numerous up his way, yet his son, the other day, caught one on the grindstone whetting his bill for future work. Mr. Elijah Hall, one of our industrious citizens; up on Ohinquepen, and perhaps among the largest taxpayers in the county, was here Friday and paid us a pleasant call. Mr. D.
