On last clay of May Drayton Smith died near the Cross Roads in Bull Swamp Township. He waa born near where he spent his life, except the four years he was a Confederate soldier. He was a. plain, unpretending man and simple in his life and habits, but a very decided, conscientious man, and his neighbors always found him just in his dealings. He lived his days out on a faim ad had passed his 85th year a^ few days. One daughter and four sons survive, his wife having died several i years ago. if' .
